Job Introduction

We are Forestry England.

We live and breathe forests.

Job title – Copywriter

Salary - £33,854 pro rata

Contract type – Permanent

Hours – 24 hours per week

Join us. We're foresters, professionals and experts. We are a passionate team who love to share our enthusiasm and want to make a positive difference for you and the environment.

Together, we’re using our scale and expertise to grow the nation’s forests for everyone. We’re already adapting our landscapes for tomorrow, and getting stuff done today, like creating amazing places and experiences for you to enjoy. We're providing vital homes for wildlife, making our air cleaner to breathe and producing sustainable timber.

What you’ll do…

We are looking for a passionate, engaging and inquisitive person to tell the story of the work that Forestry England does every day.

You're more than a wordsmith; you're a storyteller with purpose. You can take complex forestry science, conservation principles, or biodiversity data and transform them into content that captivates and inspires. You instinctively know how to find the narrative hook in everything from ancient woodland management to community forest projects.

You will be responsible for producing high-quality, accessible content for a generalist audience, to support our mission to connect more people to the nation’s forests.

As a creative and engaging content writer you will be equally happy working with other content creators to ensure the copy is consistent and engaging across all communications channels.

You’ll help raise the profile of our often-unsung areas of the business, partnering with colleagues across the organisation to source, develop and publish accurate, timely content.

Where you’ll work…

This role is hybrid, however some travel will be required to work with colleagues across Forestry England.

The post holder will be expected to be in a Forestry England office regularly to liaise with colleagues and the wider team.
