What you’ll do…
Forestry England are actively growing the nation’s forests, planting around 1,000 hectares of new woodland each year to support carbon sequestration and biodiversity, produce sustainable timber and create resilient landscapes for future generations.
We are looking for a Senior Woodland Creation Civil Engineer to join our fast-paced Woodland Creation team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of landscape-scale woodland expansion. You will help ensure the infrastructure for new woodlands is futureproof and offers value for money. This may include roading, drainage, recreational facilities, and utilities at a number of woodland creation sites across England. You will undertake detailed civil engineering design work on multiple projects, providing guidance and technical advice to colleagues across the country, project managing the delivery of design and physical works, developing and managing budgets, and contributing to the master planning of our woodland creation civil engineering programme.
This is a Temporary Appointment until 31st March 2028 with the possibility of extension or permanency but no guarantee. Some travel across England will be required with occasional overnight stays necessary

Where you’ll work…
The role will be based in one of our Forestry England offices in the Midlands South/West of England with flexibility for some optional blended working (see details below). Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.
