What you’ll do…
As Visitor Services Manager, you will take a leading role in shaping outstanding visitor experiences at Wendover Woods. This dynamic position will see you lead and manage a committed team of staff and volunteers to deliver efficient, safe and high-quality daily operations.
Your leadership of a dedicated recreation team will help shape an exceptional visitor experience at Wendover Woods. Drawing on your background in managing outdoor attractions, activities and events, you will ensure every visitor enjoys a safe, memorable and positive day in the forest.
You will also play a vital strategic role, contributing to the wider success of our business through strong commercial awareness and effective partnership working. As a key budget holder, you will manage resources responsibly and confidently identify opportunities to improve financial performance, whether through smarter operational practices, enhanced service delivery or the development of new income‑generating initiatives.

Where you’ll work…
This role is based within the East England Forest District, which manages more than 35,000 hectares of woodland stretching from Norfolk to Buckinghamshire and across Kent to East Sussex.
Wendover Woods is one of Forestry England’s flagship destinations: a 300‑hectare ancient woodland site set within the stunning Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Each year, over 400,000 visitors come to Wendover Woods to enjoy its landscape, far‑reaching views and the sense of escape it provides. The site offers miles of dedicated trails, a range of children’s play areas, the popular Wendover Woods Café, Go Ape and a busy calendar of events that draw visitors from across the region.
This is an exciting time to join the recreation team. You will help lead Wendover Woods into it’s next chapter as we continue to enhance the visitor experience and develop the site as a premier attraction in the area.

You will be assessed on experience, a technical skill which will be assessed via a 10 minute presentation, behaviours and strength based questions during your interview.
